Erosion Control & Contractor Supplies
Excelsior Erosion Control Blankets Excelsior erosion control blankets are made of Excelsior wood fibers that cling to soil. Excelsior blankets break up heavy rainfall, which helps reduce sediment runoff. It is recommended for use on slopes to provide long-term protection for vegetation in areas that may require additional time to develop. The single net Excelsior blanket is covered with a top photodegradable plastic net with fibers evenly distributed over the entire area of the blanket. The double net Excelsior blanket has both a top and bottom of photo degradable plastic net. It can handle flow rates up to 7’ per second and slopes up to a 1:1. Excelsior blankets are also available in biodegradable netting. Erosion control Blankets Coir (Coconut fiber), weed free straw/coir, and weed free straw blanket usage has become very common among professionals in various industries due to its versatility. Coir is an abundant, renewable natural resource with an extremely low decomposition rate and a high strength compared to other natural fibers. The double sided 100% Coir blanket is designed to hold seeds and soil in place for severe 1:1 or greater slopes and channel lining until vegetation is established. The double sided 70% straw/30% coir is used to control erosion on 2:1-1-1 slopes and is designed to handle medium flow in discharge channels and areas where protection is needed for more than one season. The single sided and double sided 100% weed free straw blankets are designed to last about 10 months on 3:1-2:1 slopes with moderate discharges of water channels. Erosion Control Our erosion control logs & wattles are designed to fit across high flow channel bottoms in order to slow high water velocity flows and stop silt movement. They absorb water up to 7 times their weight. The Excelsior fibers in the log offset undermining, over topping, and blowouts. Our weed free straw logs and wattles are designed to be used wherever weed free straw/hay bales have been used as a sediment filter barrier in the roadside ditches, medians, swales, and around drop water inlets. Jute mesh Jute is made of natural fibers of a bamboo-like plant and is rated as one of the most dependable and proven erosion products available. Jute stabilizes the soil and promotes the establishment of permanent vegetation on all types of slopes (road slopes, drainage slopes, landfill slopes, backyard slopes, etc.). Jute conforms to slope contours and surface irregularities. Jute stabilizes surface soil on slopes with thousands of tiny check dams per square yard. Burlap This environmentally friendly product is commonly used to wrap roots, protect against soil erosion and used in arts and crafts applications. Burlap is made from 100% natural Jute or Kenaf biodegradable fiber. This product is available in 3’, 4’, 5’, 6’ and 18”x30” bags. Silt Fences Silt Fence fabrics offer a unique blend of UV resistance, strength, and hydraulic properties that make them ideal for use in sediment control application. Once fastened to wood posts and properly installed, silt fence geotextiles assist to control sediment-laden runoff from disturbed areas. These fabrics help contain overland flow and suspended soil particles from environmental damage to areas adjacent of construction sites. We also offer wire backed silt fence for heavy sediment flows.
